FORT MYERS, Fla. — The General Manager for the Luminary Hotel gave an update to commissioners at the Community Redevelopment Agency meeting on Wednesday.

General Manager Bob Megazzini says he initially planned to hire about 230, but due to the pandemic, he hired about 105, about 25 of those are managers. He says he intends to hire more as the industry recovers.

The hotel will open in September with Dean Street Coffee, the Lobby Bar and Ella Mae’s Diner, while the rooftop bar and signature dining restaurant will make their debut in October.

The hotel and Caloosa Sound Convention Center have a number of group functions and events booked from September 2020 and as far out as 2022.
